The primary aim of the monograph is to give a self-contained exposition of Zariski's famous memoir. A secondary aim is to partially expand some of the results to nonzero characteristic. A basic knowledge of commutative algebra is the only prerequisite for understanding the book. A few light marks to endpapers and outer page edges.
