PART ONE
Revson. One: You can be friendly, but it's hard to be friends. Racing is just a job.
Mandel.One: If everyone around thought the profits from 100 million tubes of Orange Flip lipstick were buying your car, you'd be testy too.
PART TWO
Revson. Two: If I don't do it in the next two or three years, I won't do it at all.
Mandel. Two: The driver is lying in some enormous bed that is swarming with naked women who are feeding him sugared grapes and cognac.
PART THREE
Mandel. Three: Indianapolis is a ceremonial gathering, a terrible kind of tithing, the biggest shuck in the hucksters' carnival.
Revson. Three: In this business, a mistake can ramify itself into something terminal.
Mandel. Three Continued: As Revson walks by, he whispers, "A hawk has very stiff lips." Revson's lips are pretty stiff, too.

Revson. Four: I had won my first grand prix. I was earning better than $300,000 a year, and there I was looking at the unemployment line
Mandel. Four: Sentiment greases the economic wheels of racing. Sentiment and large inheritances.

Revson. Five: I was no longer a part of the family. It had been a long relationship and a good one. But I asked for my release and I got it.
Mandel. Five: One of these days the racing people are going to drive out a race-track access road to the main highwy to find nothing but wisps of smoke, some blackened fields, and a twisted tree.
