- Paul was fortunate enough in coming down with the measles just before holiday time, for he was able to go early to stay with his Aunt Annik in Brittany. When Paul's friend Ann came down with the measles she joined him at Aunt Annik's. They learn about korrigans from their Brittany friend Yvonnek who told them that korrigans danced in meadows in moonlight and lived in strange stone houses. Whilst searching for the korrigans Paul and Ann become involved in a shipwreck and meet Belle Arabelle, the ship's cat and her master the ship's cook.
