The story is set in motion when three children from the Grenfell family express skepticism about the Locketts' previous exploits, suggesting that the "adventures" recorded in their books (ostensibly written by their aunt, a newspaper reporter) are works of fiction. To settle the dispute, an adventure competition is organized. Red cloth. B/w illustrations.
Covers grubby and spine faded. A little bumping to spine and corners. 7 in pen to front pastedown. Ink name and writing to verso of front endpaper. Foxing, mainly to text block. Many of the illustrations have been neatly coloured in.
