Very good condition in a good dustwrapper.
The fascinating story of Beatrix Potter with 4 colour and other b/w plates. Green cloth, gilt title to spine, black title to front. Slight surface paper damage to front join and endpapers resulting in small hole in joint. Text block browned. All plates browned in margins. Pictorial dustwrapper is browned and edge-worn with significant loss to front panel and spine, closed edge-tears to horizontal edges.

Margaret Lane
Margaret Lane (23 June 1907 – 14 February 1994) was a British journalist, biographer and novelist, the author of more than two dozen books, and the second wife of Francis Hastings, 16th Earl of Huntingdon.
Lane wrote two biographies of Beatrix Potter, The Tale of Beatrix Potter: a Biography in 1946, and The Magic Years of Beatrix Potter in 1978. In 1984, the BBC produced a two-part television dramatisation of Potter's life based on Lane's books
