Almost very good condition. A completely new and re-edited version being the accepted 'definitive' edition of Clarke's Poe. 8 new colour plates mounted on grey paper, an extra full-page b/w illustration of 'The Pit and the Pendulum' making 32 plates in all, plus a few extra vignettes. Black cloth with gold and black pictorial onlay and gold titles to spine. Top edge gilt. 383pp. 11 x 8".
Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Chipping along top and bottom of spine; a little fraying to cloth. A few marks to covers. Gilt to spine is fading. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Frontispiece is completely detached, but loosely inserted. Some foxing and page browning. Some page margin tears and grubby marks to text and plate pages.
