Re-issue of 1984 edition with cream pictorial cloth boards, burgundy title block to spine with gilt title. Burgundy endpapers. B/w illustrations. xix and 816 pages.

Headband at top has come unglued from outer spine (common fault), minor browning to text block. Overall, a nice, clean copy contained in publisher's slipcase which is lightly scuffed.
