Rare collection of books to be auctioned
A collection of rare 1st editions, including a Charles Dickens SIGNED edition is to be auctioned off at Sothebys. Keith Kissack MBE - Dies aged 96
Kissack was an historian and prolific writer well known in the Monmouth Area. He was a magistrate, member of Monmouth Borough Council and Fellow of the Society of Antiquities, producing many books.
He was also well-known as a teacher, and later head-master of Priory Street School, and for his work with Monmouth Museum, the Local History Centre and the Regimental Museum at Monmouth Castle. (15-04-2010)

Poet Ted Hughes to have memorial in Poets corner
Ted Hughes, poet laureate and author of such celebrated collections as Crow and Birthday Letters, is to be honoured by a memorial in Poets' Corner in Westminster Abbey. Thousands of rare books saved in Cardiff
Thousands of Wales' oldest and rarest books have been saved after a council threatened to sell them. About 175 books from the collection were printed before 1500 and it also includes 500 Bibles and a rare set of early Shakespeare volumes.
