Text in brown and illustrations brown & white. 238 pages. ISBN: 0222003677. Spine lightly rubbed and worn. Text block browned. Gift inscription in ink to front endpaper. Contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is faded to spine, worn at top & tail of spine with 1" split at tail. Overall, a very nice copy of an unusual title.

Five volume set: Troy and the Trojans; Knossos; Babylon; Pompeii & Herculaneum Cities of Vesuvius; and Petra and the Lost Kingdom of the Nabataeans. Light brown cloth with printed illustrations in gilt and black. B/w illustrations, colour plates. Second printing. Spines have caught the sun and faded to a brown/green (only noticeable when removed from the slipcase). Else a lovely set contained in publisher's slipcase which is scuffed and marked but not split.

A story about the last gnomes in Britain, their exploration of the Folly Brook and their search for Cloudberry, their long-lost brother who went up the Folly and never returned... Grey cloth, red titles. Enchanting b/w wood-engravings. 200 pages. (The true first edition, as this book was later published with colour plates). Spine and corners bumped. Fading to cover at top of spine and top front cover. Endpapers and textblock foxed. Dustwrapper is slightly edge worn and torn with slight loss to top of spine, rear panel is very slightly grubby.

The delightful story of Miss Moppet, the little kitten, and her attempts to catch a mouse who is determined not to be caught! The first edition is printed in panoramic form, mounted on a strip of linen and folded concertina-style into a wallet with a tuck-in flap. Needless to say, these were very fragile and few survived. Later editions were printed in the usual small book format. The wallet is covered with grey pictorial cloth with a colour onlay of the Miss Moppet to the front. "London & New York" on rear cover denotes the first printing. Folding joints inside covers are cracked. Small inscription in ink to front pastedown. Some light fingering but contents generally clean. Page egdes (where folded) are slightly worn. Silver tab closure covering is missing to front (quite normal with these editions). Pale darkening to lower half of front cover (see picture). New York & London to rear cover denoting a 2nd printing.

Green cloth with gilt titles and vignettes to front cover and spine. 205 pages, all edges gilt. B/w illustrations. SIGNED by the author to front free-endpaper (inscribed "author's autograph copy G.E. Farrow"), small stick partially removed to same page which looks like a prize award sticker. Ghosting due to page browning to front fly-leaf. Browning to rear fly-leaf. Foxing, mainly to prelims. Covers are browned to spine and slightly dulled with some very light spotting to front cover. Spine and corners are bumped and rubbed.

Deluxe edition with original gilt decorated red cloth, small pictorial onlay to front. Colour frontis and 26 illustrations. 84 numbered pages, all edges gilt. Spine and corners bumped. Spine faded and slightly frayed at top. Some light fading to top edge and spine edge of rear cover. Frontis is starting to detach at foot. Name in pencil to front free-endpaper (along with some light pencil markings) and another (different) in ink to half title-page. Light foxing to textblock and a few pages have light margin marks. Page 80 has lower (blank) corner torn away. Still a nice copy of the deluxe first edition.

Unusually the silver tab closure is still present (slightly torn on edges), tab on front flap for closng is still present too. A few small black spots to covers and a light spot to front but covers are otherwise bright. Some rubbing to page edges and some light foxing. One page has light vertical creases to it. Several page corner tips have a small ink stain. A super copy of the 2nd priinting.

Deluxe edition with original gilt decorated grey cloth, oval pictorial onlay to front cover. Colour frontis and 26 illustrations. All edges gilt. 84 numbered pages. Light fingering to the contents but still bright and clean. Spine slightly bumped with slight rubbing to spine and corners. Cloth is beautifully bright having been protected by original printed glassine wrapper which is chipped and torn in places, with archival tape repair to rear panel, large tears to spine and corners. Printed 1/6 net at base of wrapper spine and Timmy Tiptoes is the last title listed on the wrapper. Published between 1911 and 1919 (Timmy Tiptoes published in 1911 and Warne went Ltd in 1919). A very nice copy of a deluxe edition with an exceptionally scarce glassine wrapper.

Spine and corners bumped and rubbed. Covers slightly rubbed and grubby. Prize plate (name blotted out) to front pastedown. Front joint starting to crack. Contents are well browned but otherwise are clean. Endpapers are slightly grubby.

Containins seven colour plates (three by each artist). Margin tear to lower edge of one text page. Covers are edge worn and grubby, corners are particularly worn. Joints are cracked but the binding is still tight. There is some light foxing but generally the contents are bright and clean. A nice copy of this very scarce item.
