Red cloth boards, gilt title to spine. Colour frontis. B/w illustrations. xxviii and 689 pages including index. Top edge gilt. Spine faded. Light fading to edges of boards. A few marks to boards. Corners lightly bumped. Text block browned. A few foxspots present but generally contents are very nice.

Top & tail of spine and corners worn. Endpapers and text block browned. Front endpaper has been removed. Name in ink to half-title page. A few grubby marks and fox-spots to contents.
