Slightly better than very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper.
Green boards, black title to spine. Colour frontis. B/w illustrations. Spine and corners a little bumped. Light browning to endpapers. Contents very good. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is edge worn and chipped. Small piece of clear tape to top of spine on verso to cover tears. Some foxing which is more visible on verso.

Ruth Gervis
Ruth Gervis (13 August 1894 – 26 October 1988) was a British illustrator. Ruth became widely known as a successful illustrator of children's books such as those by Paula Harris, Mary Treadgold, Kitty Barne and the Caravan Family series by Enid Blyton. She seized the chance of illustrating Noel Streatfeild's book Ballet Shoes in 1936 when Mabel Carey, children's editor for Dent and Sons Publishers, suggested she might be suitable without realising she was in fact Noel...
