Cloth fraying a little at top and bottom of spine and a small split in cloth to rear of spine. Spine browned. Bump to top of front board. Spotting and marks to covers. Some hinges are cracked. Browning to endpapers. Marks to bottom corners of both endpapers. Book plate to verso of front endpaper. Bottom of a couple of plates detached and a couple have small closed tears. Crease to margin of one plate. Some foxing to margins and page edges and a few marks to contents

A few light marks to rear board. Both joints cracked. Title page and prelims missing. Inscription to verso of frontis. Colouring to a few b/w illustrations. Biro has been used to outline some smaller illustrations. Biro drawing on reverse of one illustration which does affect a small part of text. Small hole to one colour plate. Some foxing and grubby margin marks.

Spine bumped and worn with splits to top and bottom. 5.5" split in cloth at front edge. Corners bumped and very worn. Board edges rubbed and scuffed. Scuffing and some marks to boards. Front joint cracked at top. Endpapers browned. Name and address in ink to verso of front endpaper. Ink tracing of picture beneath on tissue guard for frontis. 3 plates are MISSING. Foxing and some grubby margin marks.
