Cloth spine, pictorial front cover shows two girls, one with a hoop, looking into toy shop window. Sepia illustrated endpapers and 3 leaves, so 6 sides, of colour illustrations. Spine bumped and worn with small tears to cloth. Corners bumped and worn. Couple of patches of surface paper damage to rear board. Boards are grubby. Wear to board edges. Split to top of front and rear joints. Closed tear to first page which has been mended. Pencil marks to first page. Board edges grubby.

Joints cracked, showing webbing. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Some foxing. Wrapper is creased and chipped with some loss; edge tears repaired to verso with tape; foxed.

One hinge starting to crack. A few fox spots to text block. Contents clean.

Numerous drawings in colour and b/w. Unpaginated. Slight wear to lower cover edges. A little fading to top edges of spine and covers and bottom edge of spine. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Some light page browning otherwise contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn and chipped, loss from base of browned spine. Browning and foxing to panels. Top corner cut from front flap.

Ink inscription, dated 1938, to verso of frontis. Just an odd mark/fox spot to contents. One colour plate has been stuck into place with clear tape, now yellowed.

Five small format paperwrap books contained in shaped pictorial slipcase with opening doors at front. B/w illustrations. Some rubbing to spine and corners. Staples rusty. Creasing to the bottom of the rear covers of two books and to a couple of inner pages of another book. Some page browning and a few small marks otherwise contents generally clean.The card case is edge worn and faded. A small tear to the top of the doors. Case is grubby.
