Very good condition. Rebound with speckled calf leather spine, green title band and gilt title. Brown cloth boards. Year below publisher on title page is '1880-1884'. 180 b/w plates (including plate 172A). A few b/w illustrations to text. A heavy set.
Boards are a little scuffed, rear board of volume 2 is marked. Spines are very good, a few scuffs but overall clean. Text blocks are browned and little grubby. New endpapers given during rebind. Plate 52 in Volume I has a small closed tear at top gutter edge. Page 1 of Volume II has slight margin loss at top edge - does not affect text. All plates are pres3ent. Some plates have a few foxspots or age-related marks. A very nice set.
