From the ancient sun-dial to the novelties of a few years ago, the author describes the many varieties of timekeepers, the curious speciments, the peculiarities indicating various makers, and the means of identification. Also includes a section containing advice as to the care and repair of clocks. Brown cloth boards, gilt titles. B/w photos.
Boards a little worn at corners. Text block and endpapers grubby. Contemporary name & date in ink to free front endpaper (small & neat). Pictorial dustwrapper is ege-worn and browned.
