ARCHITECTURAL COLOUR IN BRITISH INTERIORS 1615-1840
Published by Yale University Press. 1st. 1996
Nearly fine condition in a slightly better than very good dustwrapper. Bristow contrasts the noble interiors of Inigo Jones with more intimate spaces of the period. He then sets the succeeding drabness adopted in many rooms in the second half of the seventeenth century against the era's taste for marbling, graining, and imitation Japan. Large format. Blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine. Colour & b/w illustrations. xxi and 265 pages including index.
Pictorial dustwrapper is very slightly sunned/faded to spine. A lovely copy contained in thin white card slipcase which has a few marks and imperfections.
