THE FIRST CORNISH HOSPITAL
by C.T. Andrews
Published by Wordens Of Cornwall Ltd.. 1st. 1975
Almost very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper. The Royal Cornwall Infirmary was founded by a small group of patriotic and dedicated Cornishmen in the closing years of the 18th century, at a time when England was engaged in a life and death struggle with revolutionary France. This is a story of hardship and endurance, of financial stringency and frugal living, of frustration and disappointment, of administrative errors and harsh decisions. Red cloth boards, gilt titles. B/w photos.
Boards mottled and scuffed. Some browning to endpapers and top edge of text block. Sweet odour present. Otherwise contents clean. White pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn with a few closed tears and a little grubby.
