Soft suede edges have some creasing and uneven fading. Silk bookmark is faded and is frayed. Small name and date in ink to front endpaper. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. A few margin marks.

Crimson cloth with gilt decorations to spine and front cover. 40 exquisite tipped-in colour plates with captioned tissue guards. Red and grey pictorial endpapers. Top edge red. 325 pages. Title on front cover and spine is "Grimm's Fairy Tales". Bumping to spine and corners. Some fading to spine. Marks to covers. Name and date in ink to front endpaper. Damp brown mark to bottom corner of prelims (contents and illustrations list pages). Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges; a few to tissue guards and page margins. All plates are present; two have corner creases.

Some slight rubbing to spine and corners. Small (0.75"), light scratch mark to front cover - on second R in Rupert. Otherwise covers bright and clean. Not inscribed or price-cut. Puzzle pages untouched. Two pages were mis-cut during the binding process and have been opened a little roughly causing very small margin tears (pages 27-28 and 29-30). Contents otherwise very bright. A lovely, bright copy of a scarce annual.
