Poems that are 'the very essence of the British spirit' selected and introduced by Nichols. Spine and corners bumped. Endpapers very slightly browned. Some slight page edge browning and a few fingermarks to margins else contents clean. Very scarce original blue dustwrapper (with green titles) is a bit grubby and edge worn.

Some light scuff(?) marks to covers. Light foxing to contents else contents clean. Only 4 of the 10 plates remain in the envelope at the back of the book.
