Almost very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
A story suggested by the Arthurian legends but not attempting to follow them closely. Remarkable illustrations ranging from delicately romantic to startlingly dramatic, all in full colour. Errol Le Cain's first book. Large format. Pictorial boards. Colour illustrations throughout including endpapers. Unpaginated. Dustwrapper stuck to boards with clear laminate which has bobbled. Board edges rubbed. Surface paper damage to front endpaper (possible removal of tape or label). Previous owner's bookplate to front endpaper. Contents well fingered, creased and grubby, splash marks to bottom of a few pages. Tiny closed tear to gutter edge of one page (0.75"). Binding is tight. A well-loved copy.

Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is lightly rubbed at corners, lightly browned to spine and unevenly faded to rear panel witha few minor marks. Overall, a very nice copy.
