A practical guide focused on alternative building materials, written in the early 20th century. Introduction by J. St. Loe Strachey. Grey cloth spine with red title, cream paper boards. B/w photos. 125 pages including index plus 2 page publisher advert to rear. Boards are browned and grubby. Red title to spine is fading, top & tail of spine shelf-worn. Text block browned. Foxing to endpapers. A few finger marks, mainly to prelims. Hinges pulled but binding is tight.

Edges of boards and spine lightly rubbed, minor rubbing to top of front board. Page browning and a few grubby marks to contents. Still a nice copy.

Stitching pulled causing contents to be slightly loose. Heavy foxing to endpapers, some slight foxing to textblock. Dustwrapper is edge chipped and torn with some slight loss.
