Pictorial grey cloth (illustration by Robinson) with gilt titles. Colour (chromolithograph) frontis. B/w illustrations throughout. 412 pages plus 16 page catalogue to rear. Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn. Prize plate to front free-endpaper. Some stitching pulled but binding still tight. A couple of page corner tips torn off but no loss of text.

Cream pictorial cloth. Colour and b/w text illustrations throughout. Most illustrations by W.J. Morgan, a few early Charles Robinson illustrations, many illustrations not attributed. First story is "Mr. Old Year" by Mrs. Molesworth. Spine and corners bumped, crease in cloth to lower front corner. Covers slightly grubby and spine lightly browned. Endpapers browned. Large tear to page 57/8 which has been repaired with white stickers at margins. Some other, small margin tears and some hinges pulled. Contents still tightly bound.

Contents are well browned but otherwise are clean. Endpapers are slightly grubby.

Some margin marks and foxing, but contents are still generally very good in this more unusual format of this title!
