Colour illustrations. 96 pages. ISBN: 0723231788. Reprint. Top corner of boards bumped. Boards lightly scuffed. Top edge of text block has some small foxspots. Lower corner creased diagonally to free front endpaper. Pale page edge browning else contents generally clean.

The complete and unexpurgated text of all the letters available in manuscript and the full printed version of all others. 11 Volumes and Index, making up the complete set. Volume I first published 1973, Index first published 1982. Red cloth boards, gilt titles to spine and Byron logo to front. Frontispiece to each volume. Reprints and first editions of the various volumes. One or two minor marks to boards but generally nice, bright and clean. A few volumes have a few marks to text block (not bad), top edges are browned. Name and date in ink to front pastedowns of each volume and also a four digit number to the top corner of the front endpaper. Else contents are clean. A nice set.

John Stuart, Earl of Bute, was a favourite of George III. He was the King's tutor in the 1750s and rose quickly to high political office after George's accession in 1760. Bute faced the difficult task of negotiating peace at the end of the Seven Years War. Edited with an introduction by Romney Sedgwick. Blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine. lxviii and 277 pages including index. Spine lightly browned. Text block lightly browned and foxed. Endpapers browned. A few annotations in the form of pencil highlighting to margins. A few foxspots to margins.

A very nice set contained in publisher's slipcase which has a few marks, dustwrappers are lightly browned to spine.
