Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper.
Large, heavy format. Black boards with gilt title to spine. B/w and colour photos and illustrations. From the tiny community founded in the fens by St. Etheldreda in 672, and refounded as an abbey in 970, grew one of the greatest monasteries in England. ISBN: 9780851159454. Spine bumped. A couple of small spots to textblock and a couple of lower page corner tips slightly creased else contents fine. Dustwrapper is slightly creased at edges.

Bookplate of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments and Contructions of England to front endpaper. Minor foxing to text block. Grubby marks to prelims else contents clean. Blue dustwrapper is scuffed and has foxing to verso (not visible to front). A sweet odour present.

Price-cut wrapper is edge worn with a tear to top of spine at rear edge.
