Light brown boards and lettering. Pictorial onlay of Mr. Tod to front cover. 93 numbered pages. 5.5 x 4.25". The dedication page states William Francis (instead of Francis William) which denotes a 1st printing. Some slight wear to spine which has been professionally restored (only visible on close inspection). Some light fingering to margins and some very light foxing else contents are generally clean. A couple of small marks to covers and some very slight wear to lower corner of rear cover. A nice copy of the first edition. This copy would make a wonderful gift.

Spine and corners very slightly bumped and rubbed. Light browning to front free-endpaper and some light foxing to textblock else contents clean.

Mr. Marmalade, one of the cleverest cats in Catville and owner of the Marmalade Milk Bar, organises a festival. Spine bumped. Child's name in green felt-tip pen and red ink stamp to front free-endpaper. Contents are browned and foxed throughout. Price-cut wrapper is a little edge worn.

Faint vertical score mark to spine edge of rear cover and light (damp?) stain to fore-edge of rear cover. Endpapers lightly browned. Musty smell to contents else clean. Dustwrapper is price-cut (with 'new' price sticker above) and is a bit grubby. Dustwrapper is edge worn and has tape repairs on verso

The delightful story of Miss Moppet, the little kitten, and her attempts to catch a mouse who is determined not to be caught! The first edition is printed in panoramic form, mounted on a strip of linen and folded concertina-style into a wallet with a tuck-in flap. Needless to say, these were very fragile and few survived. Later editions were printed in the usual small book format. The wallet is covered with grey pictorial cloth with a colour onlay of the Miss Moppet to the front. "London & New York" on rear cover denotes the first printing. Folding joints inside covers are cracked. Small inscription in ink to front pastedown. Some light fingering but contents generally clean. Page egdes (where folded) are slightly worn. Silver tab closure covering is missing to front (quite normal with these editions). Pale darkening to lower half of front cover (see picture). New York & London to rear cover denoting a 2nd printing.

Some grubby fingermarks to contents. A couple of pages have been browned at top margins. Dustwrapper is worn, torn, creased and grubby, slight loss to top and tail of spine but very minimal loss at edges.

There is possibly a colour illustration missing between pages 12 and 13. Page 12 has a heavy vertical crease to centre. There are fingermarks and other marks to contents.
