Black boards, silver titles and vignette. 8 blue & white full page illustrations, other b/w illustrations. 191 pages. Spine slightly bumped. Browning to top and tail of spine. Ink stamps to front free-endpaper. Light foxing to textblock. Dustwrapper is slightly edge worn with tears and creases (repaired on verso) and rear panel is slightly grubby.

- Biggles is visited by 'Jumbo' Grimes, whose son used to serve in his old squadron in the Western Desert. 'Jumbo' gives information which leads Biggles to conclude that Jumbo's employers have discovered the Starry Crown, a ship which contains a horde of gold.
