THE CHARACTER OF TOWNS: AN APPROACH TO CONSERVATION

by Roy Worskett

Published by Architectural Press. 1st. 1969

Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. Towns are alive: though they may be preserved they can never be embalmed. So this book is not only about safeguarding and enjoyment of what already exists; it is also about how best to make room for what is new. Red cloth boards, silver title to spine. B/w photos and drawings. 271 pages including index.

Light shelf-rubbing to top & tail of spine and corners. Minor knock to horizontal board edges. Boards clean. Minor foxing to text block. Previous owner's name plate to front endpaper. Else contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is grubby and edge-worn with a little loss at corners.
