BRITISH CRUISERS OF THE VICTORIAN ERA

by Norman Friedman

Illustrated by A.D. Baker; Paul Webb

Published by Seaforth Publishing. 1st. 2012

Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. Gradually evolving from sailing frigatess, the first modern cruiser is not easy to define, but this book starts with the earliest steam paddle warships, covers the evolution of screw-driven frigates, corvettes and sloops, and then the succeeding iron, composite and steel-hulled cruising ships. Large format. Blue boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos. B/w ship plans. 352 pages including index.

Spine bumped, spine and corners slightly rubbed. Some very slight spotting to top edge of textblock. Contents fine. Dustwrapper is slightly edge creased.
