Almost very good condition. 2 volume set. The text of this edition is that published in 1953 by Cassell and Co Ltd and is here used by their permission. The translator's original introduction and bibliography, together with a considerable amount of editorial annotation, have been omitted as being primarily of academic interest. Green leather spine blocked with a design and title in gilt, natural canvas sides. B/w lithographs. Top edges dark green.
Leather spines have faded from green to blue and are marked. Boards are a little marked and browned. Contents are clean. Contained in publisher's slipcase which is faded on one side and is a little marked, light rubbing to edges exposing board beneath in some places.
