THE ROAD TO CANTERBURY: TALES FROM CHAUCER

by Ian Serraillier

Illustrated by John Lawrence

Published by Kestrel Books. 1st thus. 1979

Slightly better than very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. Nine tales from Chaucer retold by Serraillier in straightforward, modern language, omitting all the rhetoric digressions that a modern reader would find tedious. Pale green boards with gilt title to spine. Pink endpapers. B/w wood engravings. 144 pages.

Boards clean. Light shelf-wear to base of spine. A few minor foxspots to top edge of text block. Small brown mark to half-title page and title page vertical edge. Else contents clean. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is lightly faded to spine, a little grubby/scuffed and has a few closed tears to top rear edge.
