Turquoise silk covered boards with gilt decorations, gilt title to spine. Endpapers form maps of the Silk Road in Central Asia. Colour photos and illustrations. 270 pages includes index. Second printing. Top of spine a little creased else a lovely copy (spine not faded, as it often is!) contained in publisher's slipcase which is lightly faded to one vertical edge.
