Front lower corner has small diagonal split across laminate & surface paper. Top & tail of spine lightly rubbed. Boards are bright. Name in belongs to box. NOT price-cut. Dot-to-dot completed in pen. Magic paintings DONE fairly neatly. Light crinkling to some pages as a result of the dampness when magic paintings were completed. Small closed tear to top of page 61 (affects margin only).

Boards creased and a vertical imperfection to laminate on front board. Corners worn, top of spine has small nick to front edge, tiny amount of loss and general wear. Name in belongs to box. NOT price-cut. A few grubby marks to contents, mainly to margins.

The last hardcover annual to be published during the war years and widely considered to be the best Rupert annual ever. Front cover shows Rupert holding a paddle and waving while Algy looks on from a little boat. First story Rupert and the Red Egg. 118 pages. Backstrip missing. Edges rubbed, corners worn. Boards a little grubby. Name in belongs to box. Front joint split but binding thread holding. Some hinges pulled. Page 15/16 detached but present. Foxing and browning throughout. A few pages have a tear to lower margin, sometimes affecting text.

Child's writing in belongs to box in ink. NOT Price-cut. Page corner creasing. Orange scribble (e.g. on pages 15, 17, 19, 57 and more). Staining/browning to bottom of outer page edges/margins. A reading copy.

Spine has been repaired with yellow cloth. 4.5" loss to bottom of original paper spine; quarter inch paper loss to top. Creasing to cover corners; some foxing and a few marks. What appear to be sticky glue marks to inside front cover and opposite on belongs to page. Name in ink in belongs to box. NOT price-cut. Foxing to outer page edges and a few page margins. Some page corner creases. Illustrations are still lovely and bright!!!
