Pictorial stiff card wraps, 9.5 x 7.25", front cover shows hide and seek, rear cover musical chairs. 6 full page colour illustrations plus brown and white illustrations to text. Creases to top corners of covers, front is worst. Slight wear to cover edges. Rear cover slightly grubby. Ink inscription to front pastedown dated 1926. Staples rusty. Centre pages are detached at bottom staple. A few corner tips creased and some foxing but otherwise contents clean.

Plain endpapers. B/w and two tone illustrations throughout. Wain illustrations are on page 36 and 37 'Pussy's Birthday Party', 128 'Catching the Train and 129 'An Exciting Gallop'. 144 pages. Six colour plates. Spine bumped and rubbed. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges scuffed. Covers grubby with some scratches to rear board. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Both joints beginning to crack. Some hinges pulled. Pages browned. One plate detached, the bottom edge of which is grubby. One other plate is partially detached. Margins and verso of plates are marked.

Front endpaper shows characters from fairy tales, rear endpaper characters from nursery rhymes. Red cloth spine with black titles. 10x8". Spine is a little grubby. A few scuff marks to covers. Corners are bumped and worn. Foxing to outer page edges. A few closed margin tears. One hinge pulled. Five of six colour plates missing. 4 b/w illustrations have been coloured in.
