Red cloth spine, pictorial front cover shows horse and dog touching noses. 6 2-colour plates plus 3 double-page spreads by Aldin, 5 plates by Rackham and a small b/w vignette by Wain. Spine and corners a little grubby. Small bump to edge of front board. Rear board and edges of front board grubby. Light browning to endpapers and prelims. Some foxing mainly to page edges otherwise contents very good. Colour illustrations are bright.

Published by H. F. & G. Witherby. 1st 1935. Almost very good condition in a slightly better than good dustwrapper.

Cream cloth covers with dark titles and deer vignettes. Two-tone frontis plus 4 b/w plates, 2 fold out maps and small b/w repeated illustrations. 125 pages. Spine and corners a little bumped. Browning to spine and board edges. Small bump to bottom of front and rear board. Tissue guard to frontis is creased. Both maps have small tears where they are stuck into the book. The first map is creased at the edges. One plate is detached. Foxing to some pages and the top margin of some plates otherwise contents are clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn, chipped and creased. Remains of a label to rear flap. Small patch of surface paper damage to front flap. Some foxing and marks to panels. Wrapper is grubby.

Red cloth covers with black titles. 16 colour plates, 16 text b/w illustrations. 111pp. 10.5 x 7.5". Spine and corners bumped. Mottling and slight fading to boards. White (damp?) marks to middle of rear board. Bubbling to front pastedown and a little wrinkling to prelims. Endpapers browned. Foxing mainly to prelims and last couple of text pages. A little light fingering. Dustwrapper is edge worn with some tears. Spine is browned. Panels are marked. Red marks to verso which match white marks on rear board.

Spine has slight loss at top and 2" loss at base. Corners are worn, covers slightly edge rubbed. Foxspots and fingermarks to contents. Old tape marks to inner margins of frontis and title-page and old tape repairs to last page. Prize plate to verso of title-page (which is the belongs to page). Some margin tears.

Large format. Brick red cloth spine, with gilt title. Rest of covers are green cloth with orange and gilt titles. 24 delightful colour plates by Aldin, telling the story of Pickles the puppy. Re-cased with original cloth covers, joints repaired and rear free-endpaper backed as some loss to edges. Some pages/plates slightly ragged to edges where they were loose before repairs. Some creases to pages. Light browning and foxing. Inscription in ink and small newspaper clipping (about Peter the lost Budgerigar!) stuck in with white tape to verso of front-endpaper. Musty odour to contents. Still a decent copy of a scarce title.

Large format. Purple cloth covers, gilt titles. Pictorial endpapers. 16 superb colour plates with tissue-guards plus some b/w text illustrations. 111 pages, top edge gilt. Spine bumped, a little worn and faded. Corners a little bumped. Small bump to top of both boards. Covers unevenly faded. Foxing to endpapers, and page edges and to a few pages internally although most pages are clean. All plates and tissue guards present and in very good condition.

The Playtime Picture Books No. 4. Puppy dog verses. Small format (13 x 11cm). 10 full page colour illustrations by Aldin plus green/white illustrations to text. Red cloth spine, grey paper boards with red title to front and white puppy dog about to land in water. Covers are grubby with slight surface paper damage to the A of 'Tails' on front cover. Front joint is cracked causing front free-endpaper to be almost detached. Small tear to edge of title-page. Foxing throughout and a few pages affected by a small brown mark at edges (includes margins of two plates - although actual pictures unaffected). Still a decent copy of a scarce book.

Large format (26.5 x 21cm). Beige pictorial cloth. Colour plates plus a few b/w text illustrations. Spine bumped with wear and nick to cloth at top. A little bumping and wear to corners and cover edges. A few marks to covers and some light scuffing. Joints and a couple of hinges starting to crack. Browning to endpapers. Small piece missing from edge of rear pastedown and light stain to top corner. Ink inscription to verso of frontis. Pencil oblong drawn to margin of one text page. A couple of corner tips creased and 1" crease with small tears to outside edge of two pages. 4" tear to one text page alongside spine. Some foxing and an odd mark to contents but generally clean.
