Board edges rubbbed. Name in ink to lower edge of front pastedown. Contents browned. All plates present.

Green cloth with gilt title to spine and black title to front cover. 8 colour plates and nearly three hundred illustrations. 256 pages. Spine bumped. Name in ink to front free-endpaper. Endpapers lightly browned. Dustwrapper is edge chipped with slight loss to top of spine. Spine is browned and there is a small hole at the base.

Pictorial endpapers by Alan Wright. First story is The Magic Knocker by Christine Chaundler. 264 pages. 10" x 7.25". Spine bumped and worn with splits to top and bottom. 5.5" split in cloth at front edge. Corners bumped and very worn. Board edges rubbed and scuffed. Scuffing and some marks to boards. Front joint cracked at top. Endpapers browned. Name and address in ink to verso of front endpaper. Ink tracing of picture beneath on tissue guard for frontis. 3 plates are MISSING. Foxing and some grubby margin marks.
