Slight loss of cloth to front edge of spine. Spine slightly cocked. Corners of boards worn. Joints pulled, front endpapers grubby and name & date in ink to free front endpaper. Text bkock browned. Grubby marks to contents. Overall, pretty good for a book of it's age and genre.

Joints are cracked and some hinges have been pulled causing contents to be a little loose. Inscription in ink to verso of frontis. A couple of small damp stains to margins of title-page and to tissue-guard of frontis. Page browning to contents.

Edited by Godwin and Pocock. With a memoir of the author and a bibliographical notice. Illustrated by engravings in outline, and wood-cuts, from drawings by Selous. Some wear and scuffing to covers and edges. Spotting. Small splits to top of spine, with some chipping; a little loss. A few page margin creases. Foxing and browning with some margin marks to varying degrees throughout book. Triangle of surface paper damage to corner of rear pastedown.
