Red and black illustrations throughout. Spine and corners bumped, cover edges worn. 1.5" pencil mark to front cover. Covers are slightly grubby. Joints are cracked. Name and date in ink in belongs to box. Child's pencil and pen scribbles/doodles to pastedowns and title-page and on verso. Contents are well fingered with a number of small tears or lost corners (no loss of text or images). Illustratons on 10 pages have been partly colour (not very well) with watercolour or crayon. A good copy.

At first glance, covers appear clean and bright, just a few grubby marks when looking closer. Red cloth spine is nice and bright. '1938' written in ink to front pastedown and name in belongs to box. 2" tear to lower gutter edge of pages 15-18 and 81-82. Hinges are pulled. Tape stain to some pages at the gutter (inner margin) where a tape repair was once affected due to pulled hinges. Page 49 and 63 detached. A few grubby marks. A reasonable copy of a scarce annual.
