Spine and corners are a little bumped and worn, with a little chipping to cloth. Inscription in ink to front pastedown. Dated from adverts. All plates are present. Wrapper is price-cut and very edge-torn and chipped, with a few inch piece of loss to base of spine. What's left of wrapper has been stuck to a white piece of paper, to strenthen it.

Burgundy pictorial cloth with gilt titles. 316 pages with booklist to rear. B/w text illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Covers rubbed and slightly soiled on rear. Inscription in ink to front fly-leaf. Page browning to endpapers. Front joint cracked. Foxing throughout with some grubby fingermarks to page margins. Some hinges cracked.
