Spine bumped else a fine copy in grey and red wrapper which is very slightly grubby at edges.

Large format. Green cloth, gilt titles and gilt shepherd vignette to front cover. 16 tipped-in colour plates by Rawlings. Numerous b/w illustrations by Thomson. Top edge gilt. Covers are unevenly browned. A few chips and nicks at cloth; with a little fraying in places. Plate to opposite page 27 is MISSING (mounting card and tissue-guard are still present, but plate no longer there). Some foxing and page browning.

Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn. A few small white spots to covers. Joints cracked but binding still tight. 5 of the plates have small, light corner creases and the last plate has some foxing. All plates present and otherwise in fine condition. Pale page browning and some foxing affecting the tissue-guards and textblock.
