Corners, top and tail of spine and raised bands rubbed. A very few scattered foxspots to contents which are bright and clean. Interesting association copy - extensive inscription in ink to verso of frontis 'Presented to Capt. W.E. Price M.P. for the Borough of Tewkesbury in the County of Gloucester by his sincere wellwisher William Stephens of Highnam Green July 1870. do your duty to God, love fair play, never mind what your enemies say.' Armorial bookplate of William Edwin Price to front pastedown. William Edwin Price (10 Jan 1841-10 Feb 1886) was an English Liberal part politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1868 to 1880. He served in the 36th Regiment of foot until 1865 and he was a Captain of the royal South Gloucester Militia and of the 3rd Gloucester City Rifle Volunteers.
