Slightly better than very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. A 'New Naturalist' Monograph No. 20. Green buckram cloth. 39 b/w photographs. 22 text figures. Coloured plate frontispiece. A fascinating study of the wood-pigeon, the least studied of British birds. Dr. Murton reveals the particularly long life span of the wood-pigeon, 14 years, and also reveals that wood-pigeons are unique among bird life in that they lactate, with their young being fed entirely on milk for the first few days of life.
