by Richard Watson

Published by Merton Priory Press. 1st. 1997

Almost very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. The Insoles of Llandaff, Coal Owners and Shippers. Tracing the rise and decline of a leading South Wales coal owning family, from their early 19th century origins as Worcester timber merchants who moved to the new docks at Cardiff, through their acquisition of collieries in the Rhondda and involvement with the Taff Vale and other early railway schemes, to their emergence as major figures in the industry. Blue boards, gilt title to spine. B/w maps and photos.

Top & tail of spine bumped. Text block slightly grubby. Removal of labels to endpapers has left residue and also some slight surface paper damage. Pictorial dustwrapper is lightly creased with faint scoring to rear panel and 2"closed tear to fold of rear flap.
