Very good condition. Retold from Alexander Teixeira de Mattos' Translation of Fabre's "Souvenirs Entomologiques" by Mrs. R.Stawell. Cream cloth boards, gilt titles and decorations. Embossed vignette of dragonfly to rear board. 12 colour plates. vii and 184 pages.
Covers slightly grubby and a little scuffed. Text block browned. Contemporary gift inscription in ink to free front endpaper has bled through to imprint on half-title page. Foxing to endpapers. Half-title page and last page heavily browned. A few margin marks. All plates present. Plate opposite page 64 (Psyche) has a closed tear to the mount which has been expertly repaired.
