THE RAVEN AND THE WRITING DESK
by Lewis Carroll; Francis Huxley
Published by Thames and Hudson. 1st. 1976
Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. Lewis Carroll wrote for children as though they were grown-ups, but the Nonsense that made them laugh has long been recognised to be disquietingly profound. This book is an enquiry into the nature of Nonsense which pursues the whole range of Carroll's thought, explains much which has remained obscure and includes evidence from his life and career. Red boards, gilt title to spine and vignette to front cover. B/w illustrations and photos. 191 pages includes index. 9 x 5.5".
Spine slightly bumped. A few small marks and pale page browning else contents clean. Dustwrapper is just a little bit edge creased and very slightly faded to spine.
