  • At long last, it is decided that it is safe to remove the Sanatorium to the Alps again. The place chosen is the Bernese Oberland. Jack Maynard is appointed Head and, since he must go at once, Joey is left to bring out the family to the ex-pension he has bought as their home.
  • Joey never lacks for adventure and on the way he meets several old friends -some expected, some quite the reverse. And wherever she is and whatever she does, she contrives to be her usual insouciant self and turn up smiling in the end.
