JACOPO SANSOVINO: ARCHITECTURE AND PATRONAGE IN RENAISSANCE VENICE
Published by Yale University Press. 1st. 1975
Very good condition in a very good dustwrapper. Jacopo Sansovino was one of the major artists forced to flee the sack of Rome in 1527. This book represents an attempt to fill in the historical background to his remarkably varied range of architectural commissions and to allow a more perceptive assessment of his achievement. Blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine. B/w photos and illustrations.
Light rubbing to top & tail of spine, light scuffing to rear board. Large bookplate to front pastedown. Text block browned with foxing to top edge. Front endpaper a little creased and grubby. Otherwise contents clean. Green dustwrapper is heavily faded to spine with small closed tear to top front edge.
