A story about the last gnomes in Britain, their exploration of the Folly Brook and their search for Cloudberry, their long-lost brother who went up the Folly and never returned... Grey cloth, red titles. Enchanting b/w wood-engravings. 200 pages. (The true first edition, as this book was later published with colour plates).
Spine is browned, with red title fading. Bumping to corners and spine. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Foxing; heaviest to prelims, endpapers and outer page edges; some to page margins. A few other margin marks.
