Almost very good condition in a almost very good dustwrapper. Grey boards, red title to spine, top edge red. 4 b/w illustrations. 160 pages.

Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Grubby marks and some browning to covers. Marks to outer page edges. Wrapper is creased with some fading to spine; tears and chips, but minimal loss.

  • It was purely by chance that the stray homing pigeon chose an attic windowsill at Linbury Court School as a temporary roosting place - an unfortunate choice, as it happens as the attics were out of bounds for boys.
  • But that was only the start of the trouble, for with Jennings in charge as chief Isecret) pigeon-fancier the security arrangements for tending the bird's welfare became complicated to the point of chaos. Indeed, a diversity of people ranging from the local newspaper reporter to an inspector of woodworm became unwittingly involved in some aspect of the development before the pigeon was finally restored to its owner.
