Welcome to the November 2025 newsletter from Stella and Rose's Books. The aim of our newsletter is to keep you informed of new information, articles and books available on our website.
You may have recently seen news about storm 'Claudia' that's affected this area of the UK. Thankfully we have survived unscathed, although the nearby towns of Monmouth and Abergavenny were not so fortunate. Our hearts go out to those affected - we know what it's like to be flooded. The town of Monmouth, just up the valley from Tintern, was worst affected. It's a beautiful little town which will no doubt be back on its feet very soon. It's well worth a visit - and is only a 20-minute drive from Stella Books up the stunning Wye Valley.
Christmas will be here shortly, so we just wanted to alert you to the last posting dates if you're thinking of getting some book-shaped presents! For outside the UK, we'd suggest that you place orders by the end of November. For the UK, we'd advise the 17th December as the deadline for orders.
We just have one article this month. Lisa takes an in-depth look at a book on Salmon & Sons - The Tickford Coachbuilders. It's a fascinating article and well worth a read. Finally, our photo of the month (thanks to Chris Byrant) is of Piercefield House in autumn. The house is sadly quite derelict but has an interesting history. Enjoy!

This year I was lucky enough to go to a few classic car shows where I saw, among many other makes and models, a selection of Ford Capris. My husband mentioned that there used to be a Tickford Capri which was a limited-production, high-performance version of the Ford Capri Mk III 2.8i. A couple of weeks later I came across this book in our shop, Stella and Rose’s Books, called The Tickford Coachbuilders so I thought I must have a read as it seemed too much of a coincidence to ignore. My husband was correct; it is the same company that did go on to be part of the development of the Ford Capri.
