June 2025 Newsletter

Welcome to the June 2025 newsletter from Stella and Rose's Books. The aim of our newsletter is to keep you informed of new information, articles and books available on our website.

We're enjoying some lovely weather here in the UK at the moment. Perfect for a visit to the beautiful village of Tintern - and of course to Stella and Rose's Books! Sonia's article this month is about a local walk up to a viewpoint overlooking the famous Tintern Abbey. Meanwhile, Bernice has picked 'The Most Famous Car in the World' as her featured book. Any ideas what car it might be? Scroll down to find out!

Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances the phones will only be answered Friday-Sunday from July. The shop will still be open as normal and of course we'll be processing Internet orders. If you want to get in touch during the week, please email orders@stellabooks.com with any queries Monday-Thursday. This should result in a quicker response.

We hope you enjoy the newsletter!

The Devil’s Pulpit contributed by Sonia

There is a lovely walk, local to Tintern, in the Wye Valley, which takes one to the Devil’s Pulpit via Offa’s Dyke Path on the Gloucestershire side of the River Wye. It is a beautiful woodland walk, the paths are well marked and maintained. If it has been wet you will probably (there’s actually no ‘probably’ about it, you will) need the right footwear. There are a few ways to approach the pulpit...

The Most Famous Car in the World by By Dave Worrall contributed by Bernice

What do you think of when you read the title?

The Author thinks it is the Aston Martin DB5 and I tend to agree with him. This book charts the complete history of the James Bond Aston Martin DB5 and tells the extraordinary story of a normal car that became an overnight sensation. At the time of writing his book, 25 years after the initial film and even with all the various other modes of transport used in the subsequent Bond movies, it still holds that title.

There follows a wealth of information and photographs about the DB5 from the author’s extensive six years research and gives a fascinating insight into many aspects of the film industry, the motor industry and more.
